The white building on SE 1st St just south of the alley was built in 1911 for the Lutheran Mutual Aid Society. Over the years it housed a loan company, dental offices, and the state liquor store. In 1965 Dr. E. C. Kromer had his dental office on the 2nd floor. Hagemann & Hagemann law was on the first floor. Possibly the Century (Insurance) Company of America. Additional photographs and resources can be found at the Waverly Public Library on the local and family history page http://www.waverlyia.com/public-library/research/local-and-family-history-collection.aspx Accession No. 01N0226
