Waverly Newspaper, Sept 1965. On the first floor of the Bremer County Historical Society Museum is the chair in which Pres. Taft reportedly sat. It would not have been in Waverly; has he never got off the train, and his train stopped at Waverly Junction and he never got off. He greetings were made from the end of the train. It may have been a gift to the museum from someone who purchased it elsewhere. The museum building was built in 1862 by A. Daily as a hotel for stage coach passengers.
