Following the July 21-22 1999 rain and subsequent flooding, the building on 1st St NE was severely damaged when the northeast corner collapsed because the foundation had been washed out. The building was evacuated and later residents were given a brief time to retrieve items. The building was built about 1910 by A. Winner and at the time of the flood was owned by the city, given by Keith Schuldt. No one was in the building when it collapsed. A cherry picker was used to remove some items from the apartment at upper right. The building was demolished a week later.
