Our latest big initiative is the Mainstreet 360º tool--a sort of "Google street view" for historical photos. University of Northern Iowa (UNI) faculty and students will be geolocating archival photos to the main streets of Iowa towns. We are building a prototype for the UNI campus and will be displaying historical campus photos on a decade-to-decade, 360º street view display through the Fortepan Iowa interface. Your support will help us bring this tool to life, and preserve Iowa cultural heritage through interactive digital resources. Contact if you have any questions or have a photo of yourself (or any UNI student) on campus grounds, that we might include in revisualizing UNI history.
