Eric Higgins and Rod Gardner at Western Illinois University. This was at Malpass Library on the second floor. Eric worked at the school newspaper, the Western Courier, as a photographer and darkroom technician. At this time Eric was photographing with a 35mm Minolta X700 camera and had found a remote trigger for the camera at a camera store. He set his camera on a tripod and took this picture with a trigger that is in his hand. This was cutting edge technology back then. Rod Gardner was Eric’s roommate and good friend. Eric knew Rod was studying at the library so he tracked him down to show him his new ‘toy’ and took a picture with it.
