Jefferson School in June. Built on the southwest corner of Milner and Mary Streets in 1907 to replace the smaller Star School, Jefferson school served families of south Ottumwa for 67 years. The school took pride in having one of the first hot lunch programs for elementary students as well as boasting one of the most active PTAs in the school system.
