This is from a series of 5 pictures which can be arranged to give a panoramic view of the Ford dealership on W. Bremer in the north 100 block. The business was owned by Ernie Coonradt. The Laird building was built in the spring 1934 after a fire destroyed the building to its west and severely damaged the former garage on this site. A showroom of 55' by 48' was located in the front of the building with office and parts room, etc. In the rear. The used car lot is limited to one row of cars because the fence directly behind them is next to a pit left from the basement after the building burned in 1934. The pit stood on the corner until about 1963 when the city ordered it filled. St. Andrew's Episcopal Church is in the background. It burned in 1957. The large house in the background at far left was built in the 1870s by a Fairfield and demolished in 1970c. The ramp just seen at the left led to the 2nd story of the Chevrolet garage. Additional photographs and resources can be found at the Waverly Public Library on the local and family history page http://www.waverlyia.com/public-library/research/local-and-family-history-collection.aspx Accession No. 91D0032
