East Bremer looking east from 3rd. North at south side of street. North side: Waverly Publishing Co., Yarcho Motor, Ellis DX station, CGW depot (roof visible). South side: Shep's Standard station, hotel, Machine shop, Brick and Cement Paving. WCF&N tracks. All the wood buildings on the south side were already long standing in 1940s and remained the same until 1980 when they were torn down to make room for the new First National Bank. The old hotel went by several names over the years, usually the surname of the owner. Bremer County Independent; 2 December 1936
