A mock disaster drill was held in Waverly, May 15, 1992, at Century Company of America Century Company of America offices. A tornado was to have struck the company complex at the west edge of Waverly at about 1:30pm. Besides a chance for Bremer and Butler county rescue Units to practice skills under pressure, the drill gave Century Company officials a chance to evaluate how quickly the 400 plus employees, partially shown in the background, could be evacuated.
