Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Reeve, he ran a nursery for many years on land now owned by Bartels Lutheran Retirement Community. The Waverly newspaper received a copy of a poem he had written to his wife. It stirred their interest and a story was written about him, his life in Waverly etc. A copy of the article reached a reporter in Los Angeles. He in turned researched further and wrote a article for his paper. That prompted a follow up article and the mail began to flow from Iowan to former Iowans. From Florida, California to Waverly, from city to city as people remembered their time in small towns. Waverly. BI; 25 March 1980. WD;29 May 1980.
