South view downstream of Cedar from Bremer Ave. bridge-east side stone retaining wall on left was built by the WPA during the 30s. Farmer's Exchange elevator in background. A couple of islands that were in the Cedar were removed by the WPA at same time the wall was built. Kids used to camp on the islands. Wall and end of millrace are past community bldg.
