The article announced that former locals involved in creating Hooters in Florida planned to open a Pete & Shorty's tavern in Clearwater, Florida. The men were: Ed Droste, David Lageschulte, Denny Johnson plus Susie [Grawe] Johnson. They received permission from original owners Pete and Shorty Sinram and the current owners. Listed on their planned menu were Roy's egg and cheese and loose meat sandwiches. Like the Clarksville establishment there would be no stools only a few tables and booths
