A view of West Bremer Avenue looking east toward the bridge and taken from the intersection with 3rd St. The Methodist church is on the left. The white building with the gable roof on the right is the original Baptist church. When the Baptist congregation determined to build a new church building in 1901 after fire damaged the steeple of this building, it was purchased by J.C. Garner, moved to this lot and used by the congregation until the new church was completed. Garner planned to convert the building into a hotel, but it was dismantled in 1913 and the material was sold.
