This building was a hotel built in 1893, sitting on Blunt and North Main Streets in Charles City Iowa. The inside was an opera house with seating for hundreds. The main lobby had many businesses in it such as a tailor, drycleaner, and barber shop. It was burned down on Feb 7, 1935. The reason for the fire was never found but reports say they heard explosions in the basement a little before the fire, sustaining $217,500 in damage. It never ended up being rebuilt. The site is now home to the Charles City Chamber of Commerce.
