Peter Roffler's blacksmith shop. It was located south of the Hohnsbehn buttertub factory which was on the SW corner of E. Bremer and SW 5th St. This photo appeared in the 1956 centennial edition of the Bremer County Independent on March 7, 1956. It was called a blacksmith shop and named L-R: Val Herman, Pete Roffler, and Mike Hayes.
Roffler sold the business and his home to F.C. Meyer [banker] in 1901, Roffler continued to manage the shop for a time.
