This train bearing relics of WWI arrived at the Great Western depot in Waverly on the morning of September 25, 1918, during a bond drive. All manner of German and allied armaments were displayed on flat cars and in a "camouflaged" car. A program was presented, the names of Bremer County boys who had died in service were read, and U.S. and allied flags were displayed. The three men in the lower right corner are Wehrmacher, J. Quince Lauer and Woodring. The original card was owned by Mr.Lauer who had identified the faces.
