Waverly Newspaper, late 1980s. Koehring received a contract for a sizeable number of cranes that would withstand being dropped from planes. The army did not take shipment immediately and thus there were rows of cranes parked at or near the plant for several months. That looks like a bunch of little green cranes built for the military. They stored them outside where GMT is now renting right by where the Waverly Rail Trail starts on 1st Avenue behind Kwik Trip East. I live right up the hill going east. There used to be a train track that ran into that area which is now a parking lot for GMT. Used to wake up my kids about 2 pm nap time! Circa 1977-79. It looks like that photo was taken from my yard up on the cliff!

Your right Paul. We made hundreds of 10 ton cranes for the navy in the 80's.
