Encampment about 1885-Held every year on the Cedar riverbank north of the then Stockwell bridge. "Property of H.S. Bunth one of the early settlers of Bremer Co., who came by covered wagon in 1874." Per Bremer Independent, Sept 20, 1961 p3-Officers and wives and non-commissioned officers. Col. H.R. Fuller, wife Nettie, and son Charles are in the picture. The flag in the service picture has 38 stars (this was the case for all American flags from July 4, 1877 to July 3, 1890, according to the Smithsonian website.
