An elevating road grader and crew ready for building a highway. The tractor attached to it is a 920 Holt 75 crawler tractor. The name "Holt" is stamped in the radiator. The HOLT lettering also fits an early date, although it only dates the tractor--not necessarily the photograph. Holt and C. L. Best merged to form Caterpillar in 1925, so a Holt-branded machine was manufactured before then but could have remained in service afterward. The clothing looks like early 20's.
