Sheriff Harley Ehlert at the Farmers State Bank vault shortly after the bank was robbed by a Charles City man. Everyone was told to lay on the floor as he ran out the door. Ronald Wamsley jumped as soon as the robber was outside and got some of the numbers on the car license as it headed toward Clarksville. The car was rapidly identified and the Highway Patrol notified Ehlert that other law officials and the FBI had also been called in since the bank was insured. The robber stopped for a snack on his way home where officers were waiting for him. WD; 19 January 1962
