The Blue Haven skating rink opened in early June 1959 after a new floor had been prepared. It was operated by 2 men from Waterloo. In 1960 Mr. and Mrs. Orville Jensen took over the management. The skating chimpanzee mentioned in one of the comments on Facebook put on 3 shows in a day in November 1960. That event is one of the last entries found so far in the newspapers.
