Buggy - Cawston Ostrich Farm, South Pasadena, CA. Part of the Jay Family collection. No names, no date.
An article in the Bremer County Independent; 9 September 1921 p7 there is an article written by a Mrs. S.I. Poole about her and her husband's trip to California. In that article she mentions their visit to the Cawston Ostrich farm. A spell check of the Waverly newspapers came up with a number of stories that mentioned ostrich. but only this article included Cawston. No picture was included in the story, but the Pooles were Waverly residents at the time, so it possible that one of couples are Sherman Ira and Minnie Lewis Poole .
Additional photographs and resources can be found at the Waverly Public Library on the local and family history page http://www.waverlyia.com/public-library/research/local-and-family-history-collection.aspx Accession No. 13G0014
