When the Star Clipper pulled out of Waverly a group of investors, many of them Wartburg faculty or staff, opened the Coffee Depot in the 1904 depot. Dave Frederick was president of the group, and the first manager was Michael McGrane, followed in 1999 by Peggy Charney. Some of the investors who leased the building were: Randall Schroeder, Dave and Merry Frederick, Terry Van Laningham, Susan Taibor, and Bruce and Kim Folkers. Various events were also held there.
