In a 1998 at a city council meeting the subject of the Kohlmann Park Riverside Enhancement Project was on the agenda. Approval was given to begin work on applying for a REAP grant. One aspect, already a wish, was an eight foot wide concrete sidewalk. The meandering walk from the north end of the park to Bremer Ave. was completed. in 2002. It is now a connected with the trail through South Riverside Park and beyond and also forms a connection to the Rail Trail to the north of Kohlmann park.
