The station was built in 1933 according to county records. It has a long records of managers under
Cities Service Oil Company mentioned in Waverly newspapers. Among those, who seemed to change every year or two, were: Harvey Brinkman, Stan Westendorf, Thomas Crews. In 1960 The Vriezlaar car dealership [across the street] bought the building and used it for their repair shop. Jerry Aswegan was manager there during that era. Vriezelaar's later moved their business out to 4th St. SW. As of 2026, and for some time past, Mehmen Monument Works has occupied the building. Craig Mehmen is the owner.
