Photo of the Methodist Episcopal Church and parsonage on W. Bremer Ave at 3rd St. NW. The photo was taken before a fire on 1 Apr 1922 caused the steeple roofs to be replaced with tile roofs. The church and parsonage were built on two lots donated by Waverly's founder, William P. Harmon, in his will; the church was dedicated in 1868, the parsonage was constructed in 1888. The will also gave the congregation $500 toward the building of the church. Harmon's generosity was commemorated on a memorial window in the church, along with the name of Governor Oran Faville, another member of the congregation.
