Taken on W. Bremer between 2nd and 3rd Sts. N. The WHS student body was celebrating a big basketball win by parading down main street on bobsleds. The Methodist church is at the right. The Bremer County Independent of 25 Jan 1912 reported that the Waverly high school team defeated West Waterloo (the state champions the previous year) on Saturday night, the first loss for the Waterloo team that season. On Monday morning the entire high school and teachers paraded through town and around the Stockwell bridge on nine bobsleds provided by various local businesses.
