Looking northwest from 4th St. and E. Bremer. The CGW depot was built in 1904 following the destruction by fire of a previous depot which was located near what is now Carnation. The line came from Sumner and actually entered Waverly from the west near Bartel. In 1903 the line was built from Readlyn and came into Waverly from the east. Westerndorf's DX was formerly Platte's station and before that Hawkeye Oil. The present building replaced a little station with a covered driveway. Additional photographs and resources can be found at the Waverly Public Library on the local and family history page http://www.waverlyia.com/public-library/research/local-and-family-history-collection.aspx Accession No 93C0164
