C. Woodleigh Wile opened a gas station on W. Bremer in 1932. Five years later he set up a trailer camp to the immediate west of his station. In 1939 he bought several cabins that were being operated in conjunction with the White Spot cafe on SW 4th St. In addition to his other duties Mr. Wile was the official weather recorder for Waverly beginning in 1935. In 1956 the motel name was changed to Lyle's TravO-Tel. A few years later Roland and Mildred Mueller took over management of Mueller's Travo-Tel. Veda Bohlen bought the motel in 1990. Then Casey's built there in 1993. 2026 Casey's is still there.
