On the Facebook account, "You might be from Denver . . ." Diane Ryherd uploaded a newspaper article (which included this photo cropped) that says, "Mrs. Wilbert Foelske apparently gives her husband a passing grade in this cheek to cheek test in Denver Wednesday night. Foelske is one of the contestants in Denver's beard growing contest that is part of the centennial celebration." Wilbert and Grace Foelske are Diane Ryherd's parents. No citations were given for the article.
This photo along with many others was made from negatives in the newspaper archives which were donated to the Waverly Public Library.
