A view of 1st St SE looking north from 2nd Ave SE. The house on the left (the only one that still exists) is located at 91 2nd Ave SW and was the home of Leon and Mamie Hiller. Later the porch shown was removed and the entrance was moved from the east side to the south side. Second from the left was the home of Wm. P. Martin, a local restauranteur; the house was later owned by attorney Burton Sweet. The house is shown in the 1896 Semi-Centennial Souvenir of Waverly, Ia. The third house from the left was later the home of Dr. Leon Jay.
