Townsend and Merrill Company was at 604 Main Street, according to the 1923 Cedar Falls city directory. The yellow page ad in this directory says this lumber and coal company had also had lumber and coal yards in other Iowa towns: New Hartford, Hubbard, Dike, Dysart, Hampton, Ackley, and Faulkner.
