This picture was taken during the construction of the Bremer avenue bridge which was completed in late summer of 1950. Contractors built the new pilings under the new bridge. The eastern most piling can be seen at far right still encased in the forms. The planking is off the south pedestrian walk. In the background at the left is the bell tower on the fire station.
