Waverly celebrated the centennial during the summer of 1956. This group of young baton twirlers entertained the viewers on the Bremer Avenue bridge. The photo also caught the look of NW 1st St. NW with Cowger's shoe shop and Shane's old blacksmith shop just north of the alley- later an apartment. These pictures were in album found in the newspaper office. The photographer is unknown, but the pictures were in an album which included photos of Maxfield's Lounge and Cafe. Baton Twirlers. Additional photographs and resources can be found at the Waverly Public Library on the local and family history page http://www.waverlyia.com/public-library/research/local-and-family-history-collection.aspx Accession No. 98N0227
