Ed Kohlmann [1899-1989]worked with and then took over from his father the clothing store on E. Bremer Ave. which bore their name. He served on the city council and various civic groups. Kohlmann Park along the river north of Bremer Ave. is named after him. He and his wife, Rachel, lived next to the river north of the bandstand at 92 4th Ave,.
