At the time the rooster had many different cultural representations, whether it be displaying one's pride for the French Republic and their sports teams, especially after the ending of WW1. Or "A Chicken in Every Pot". which began to be associated with Hoover's Presidential campaign, promising republicans stability for their hard work as the Great Depression began it's grip on the world.
