Donated by the Waverly Newspaper. Horse and crew combine. Have not been able to verify this is a photo taken in Bremer County. According to Ancestry James Shea was born in S. Dakota and died in Fayette County. He is buried in Wadena, Iowa. His son and his family did live in Waverly and as of 2026 he has descendants in the Waverly area. In earlier years threshing or combining was sometimes done by a crew who were hired by numerous farmers for the job. Was this on his farm, or did he take his machine and go where he was needed.
