Interior of unknown hardware store. Name of the store and location are currently unknown. Early 1900s?
Features that might help identify or date the business are the brand names visible. At far right is a sign and a display of Claus Cutlery. The company was established in Ohio 1877/8. It merged with Henkel Co. in 1919 and changed its name to Henkel-Claus Co. The items could have already been in the store, but the likelihood is that the photo predates 1919. A sign on the left side offers Gilt Edge Carriage Paint (frequently misspelled as "Gil Edge"), also sold during the same time frame.
WHPC No. 00A0017.
Additional photographs and resources can be found at the Waverly Public Library on the local and family history page http://www.waverlyia.com/public-library/research/local-and-family-history-collection.aspx
