In the 1900s, Charles City, Iowa, built Lincoln School in 1914. This building was made out of brick with a very architectural look, like a castle. The inside of the school has very high ceilings and a large school bell. In the 1920s, this school featured some additions to the outside, featuring new brick added on. In the 1920s, 320 people went to Lincoln school with grades K-6. During the 1930s, Charles City led to an extreme growth in people. Lincoln School was packed with kids to the point that they couldn’t allow any more students in. Today, Lincoln School is still here with 299 students and grades 2-4. Lincoln School is over 100 years old today.
