The photo was probably taken about 1888-9, when Leopold Levy had dissolved his partnership with Leon Hiller and started his own company, and E.W. Jackson had not yet taken his brother-in-law into his grocery business to form the firm of Jackson & Pierce and then begin selling dry goods.
