Citizens Lumber sold to the Spahn & Rose Lumber Co. which occupied the same corner for about 97 years, 1904-2002. Spahn & Rose also had a yard on the NW corner of W. Bremer and 3rd St. There was a coal shed along the river and the RI tracks, but the office had always been on the same corner at 123 W. Bremer. They remodeled in 1933 leaving an drive through door to the stored lumber racks. In 1960 they bought the long empty Congregational Church across the alley. Using the salvaged wood they constructed a warehouse south of the alley. The old Congregational Church across the alley was purchased and the salvaged lumber was used to build a warehouse which faced 2nd St. The company sold the building on W. Bremer in 2002 and held their grand opening 311 16th Ave. SW in May.
The Waverly public library is behind the trees on the right.
