Waverly Newspaper. Uncle Bill's birthday party. Taken in his home after the big party at the Fortner Hotel. Dr. Rohlf's birthday party followed a day of medicine for these doctors. Some came from Iowa City, Rochester, and Chicago during the years when the clinic was held. The Waverly Hospital revived the practice a number of years ago by setting aside a day in January for free care for needy patients. The year 1915 brought 20 physicians together for the clinic; in the evening they attended a birthday dinner at Dr Rohlf's home where young roast pig was served. Dr. L.C. Kern is seated at the right, Dr. Rohlf is seated 5th from the right. Dr. Frank Osincup, Waverly doctor and mayor, is standing 4th from the right. Additional photographs and resources can be found at the Waverly Public Library on the local and family history page http://www.waverlyia.com/public-library/research/local-and-family-history-collection.aspx Accession No. 89N0027.
