Heritagefest. "Hulda and Harmon" have marched in every Heritagefest parade. The idea originated when someone suggested calling him Harmon and no one knew what Mrs. Harmon's name had been. They were off on name (It was Alzina) and descent for the Harmons were not of German extraction. Nevertheless, the idea stuck and they are now the "somewhat mascots' of the parade. The heads are warm and they have been disoriented and one even turned and walked back towards the beginning of the route. In 1990 they had guides in the form of two young boys who carried a banner and were in charge of keeping them on the right track. Sept 13, 1990.. Additional photographs and resources can be found at the Waverly Public Library on the local and family history page http://www.waverlyia.com/public-library/research/local-and-family-history-collection.aspx Accession No. 90N0334.
