The only structure in this photo that exists in 2025 is the tall brick Nathan [Ellis house] at far right. It was also the oldest building in this photo. It was long ago converted to apartments. One by one the others were removed. Vern and Esther Homan lived in the white house in the 1940s. The Standard gas station made way for Kentucky Fried Chicken which was succeeded in 1996 by Taco John's. As of 2026 Taco John's still occupies #617 W. Bremer.
