A ton of junk - Bremer County Conservation worker Patrick Hyde stands near two truckloads of garbage collected from a three-mile stretch of the Cedar River July 15. Eleven volunteers spent the day collecting approximately 2500 pounds of old tires, metal, glass, paper and plastic out of the Cedar River from Waverly's Brookside Park down to the old steel bridge.
