This photo shows the front foyer of the historic Charles City Junior/Senior High School also known as “500N Grand.” The building is now owned by Fouch brothers LLC. It was built in 1932. It was originally a school for the Charles City Comets between 1932 and 2016. This school held in its prime over 1000 students mainly during the industrial period of Charles City. During its time as a middle school parts of the original building were covered up and Fouch Brothers LLC is working with the national historic associations and National Park Service to bring the original parts of the building back to life with the hopes of establishing housing there in the future.
