Waverly Newspaper. The building on the left [#221] was built for Charles Neubauer who ran a menswear store. By 1950 Leuthold Johannsen was there also selling men's clothing. The Schlutsmeyer's has the distinction of having served customers while their store sat in the middle of 2nd St. NE. That store was removed once the brick building was completed and the clothing racks were again in #223.
