Beth Johnson There were two plants when Carnation transferred my dad to Waverly in 1963. My dad worked in the instant breakfast plant, to the north. Later, I worked summers ['66 and '67] in the instant milk plant, to the south.

Jeff Iverson Louis Borchoff had a salvage yard out there. He lived 2 houses down from the home I grew up in. Louis and Esther Borchoff. Wonderful German couple that lived there for years.

I remember rummaging through that junk yard looking for parts for my 1931 Chevy in 1956. All his cars were old, but newer than mine! Good memory!

Nick McCumber yes, the Parkway is right on the property that the salvage yard was on. Can you imagine the metal car parts that were dug up as they moved dirt to prepare for the road? And the oil and gear lube that was saturating the ground?
