Waverly Newspaper. These buildings are between 1st and 2nd streets S. The tall building at extreme right is the Century Building (1st National) which was occupied by the bank until 1981. The portion shown as Meyer Shoe Center was incorporated into the bank building in 1963 as office space. Maxfield Tavern was built in 1915 for a pool hall/barber shop/restaurant. Patricia's Fabrics later used the building. The white building front was covered, and the building divided into two halves. Mane Street Hair Company now uses the west half, and the east half is used as an office, according to 1991 notes. The white building is one of the oldest brick structures in the downtown area.
