Looking southwest from 4th St. and W. Bremer. These buildings are among the oldest brick buildings in Waverly, ranging from 1864 through 1870s. At that time it was a big corner with a hotel across the street. Lack of parking contributed to the slower business volume. The Trading Post building now has a small store front and the rest is apartments. In the alley behind it, the owners have created a little garden area with a fence around it. The 3rd and 4th buildings from the left were razed in the mid-1980s. As of 1993, nothing has replaced them. Additional photographs and resources can be found at the Waverly Public Library on the local and family history page http://www.waverlyia.com/public-library/research/local-and-family-history-collection.aspx Accession No 93C0161
